On the banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro River at Gotu.

Camp Simpirre is in Gotu, Isiolo County, about 87 km north of Isiolo town, deep in the heart of the Waso ecosystem. There are two ways to reach it.

By road through Kachuru

About 60 km from Isiolo to Kachuru, then 30 km more.

  1. From Isiolo, take the Isiolo to Garba Tulla road to Kachuru town. Kachuru is 60 km from Isiolo, a drive of about 90 minutes.
  2. At Kachuru, turn right onto the Merti road.
  3. The camp is on the banks of the Ewaso Ng'iro River, 30 km from Kachuru shopping centre.

Through Shaba Game Reserve

A drive through the reserve.

  1. It is a 30 minute drive to Shaba Game Reserve.
  2. From there, Gotu is about 90 minutes' drive through the reserve.
